Raised on a mixed stock farm in Mayfield, Chris became accustomed to the rural way of life early. Upon leaving school he worked on the family farm and other stock and crop farms, before working on farms in the UK and Scotland during his OE.
Returning to the Ashburton District, Chris started a contracting career after purchasing a small block of land. After 12 years of bailing, agricultural spraying and running a pig fattening unit, it was time for a new direction.
Selling his property and contracting business, Chris entered real estate in 1990, commencing work at Property Brokers’ Hasting’s McLeod two years later.
Over this time, Chris has become a dominant force within the lifestyle and rural market, his success showing in the number of repeat customers and numerous accolades, including ‘No.1 Rural Sales Consultant’, 2012-13 Top Rural Salesperson Companywide and rating consistently in the top ten of rural agents South Island wide.
Chris became a shareholder in the company in 2007, and more recently a Company Director.
Chris is married to Leonie, a primary school teacher, and has two adult children, Georgina, a physio, and Marcus, a Chartered Accountant.
In his spare time Chris is a keen traveller and enjoys hunting and fishing.
